![]() The press fit would be cheap but I have never done that. Screw shaft is 1-7/16' long, 0.164' diameter, head is 5/32' diameter Brass nuts are 5/32' long and 5/32' diameter. The result is a bulls eye appearance of brass and steel. Once glued in place, sand down the fastener. I could grind the 13mm head down to around 7/16 on my drill press but that would be 6 x 2 = 12 heads to grind per part which is not that appealing. This style of fastener was popularized by legendary knife maker Bob Loveless. The 13mm head is also too large for the smaller parts but would work for the larger size parts. I am also looking at furniture joint connector bolts/nuts but the head sizes on the bolt and barrel nut are way too large (15 or 17mm) and for the smaller 13mm head I can find them at 1.0 length but I need shorter lengths as my sandwich is about 1.0in thick. I'll do some more checking on these or similar nuts. The inexpensive McMaster-Carr bolts would work but the nuts are expensive. These look very good for a one-time knife, e.g. Corbys and Loveless are out as they are way too expensive - I need 6 or 9 per part x 100 parts. ![]()
